Two Tibetan Monks arrested in Tibet

Dharmsala: Two Tibetan monk, alleged for setting up Chinese officials vehicle on fire, from Jomda county of Chamdo prefecture, Tibet were arrested on Tibetan national uprising day and tortured in the custody, says source in exile.

According to senior aide to CTA, Karma Palden age 24 along with two other from Zikar monastery in Chamdo got arrested in the midnight, alleged for firing regional government's official vehicle. Later two other monks freed, instead Mipham Gelek , 20 years old, was arrested. The source said both the victims face torture in the Jomda custody.

Jomda is targetted by the Chinese official as a red alert area for protest, following denial of farming and cultivation in the region, to show civil disobedience to the Chinese government in the last two years.
